Karren Brady, 56, unveils incredible transformation after dramatic weight loss

Karren Brady is busier than ever. Boasting an extraordinary CV, the 56-year-old is a member of the House of Lords, a vice chair for West Ham United FC, and an advisor to Alan Sugar on The Apprentice. Away from the boardrooms and business meetings, however, Karren is a proud mother and grandmother, which has encouraged her to maintain a better work-life balance while prioritising her health. “I have been on a health kick, I became a grandma, and I wanted to be a fit, healthy grandma, so I started eating healthy and exercising,” she told the Daily Mail in 2025.

“I have lost quite a bit – I don’t know, though, as I don’t weigh myself. I feel better for it. It is good because everything you put on fits.” Karren, who is currently appearing in series 20 of The Apprentice, has acknowledged her weight loss in recent years, noting that she tries to make “healthy and sensible choices” where possible. More recently, however, the entrepreneur was forced to shut down rumours that she’d been using weight loss drugs.

“Well, look, I’m not on Ozempic, but questions about women’s weight come up far more often than they should. I’d much prefer the conversation to be focused around my work,” Karren told The Sun in January.

“Anyone can do anything they want to their own body. I have no problem with it at all. But people think they know something they don’t know, or they just presume. And so what if I was? And what if I wasn’t? It would be my choice. I think the way people talk about women’s bodies is certainly an effort to belittle them or make them feel insecure.”

Karren’s fitness regimen

Karren has denied using Ozempic, attributing her weight loss to hard work and consistency in the gym. Back in February, the TV star shared a video from her local David Lloyd. “Getting my Monday morning sweat on,” she penned in the caption. “I love cycling outdoors, but with this weather I’m more than happy to keep warm and get my workout in at @davidlloydclubs. Who else has kicked off their week with a workout?”

In another post uploaded last November, Karren was seen heading into her gym, where she began her workout on the stairmaster before hitting the shoulder press machine. “Just a quick workout today, but it’s amazing how much better it makes me feel. Now off for a coffee and ready to take on a busy day!” she noted.

According to Karren, whenever filming for The Apprentice is just around the corner, she has something of a regimen in place. “I have lost a bit of weight. I try to lose about 5kg before a season starts filming in June, so I look my normal weight, and I don’t look huge next to Alan, as he’s so fit and healthy,” she explained to Fabulous Magazine

“But last year, when The Apprentice finished, I got a serious stomach bug and lost another 5kg. Losing weight is easier than maintaining it, but I’ve been making healthy and sensible choices, which is important as you get older. I cycle or walk everywhere, too.”
